My Hands Are Open

by Brian Johnson, Ethan Hulse, Josh Baldwin, Leslie Jordan, Stephanie Skipper, and Timothy Skipper

For many years of my life when the new year or just a new season in life roled around, I've had a new  prayer in my heart in the form of a song or hymn. At the beginning of most new journals, I usually write on the front page the scripture passages that are speaking to me at that moment in my life and the lyrics to a song that is my prayer for that season.

As I've been seeking the Lord for direction, not only in leading worship but in all areas of life, I just keep coming back to the theme of SURRENDER. The planner in me is constantly fighting to fill in every blank, answer every question, and schedule every moment. But as a follower of Jesus, the truth is that I want HIM to fill the blanks, answer the questions, and ordain each and every step I take. Scripture tells us that our truest worship is to allow Him full reign in every area of our lives.

Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy,

to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing

to God - this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to

the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of

your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what

God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:1-2

Will you join me in entering into 2021 with open hearts and open hands, ready to receive God's good, pleasing, and perfect will for your life and for BVAG? Let's pray this prayer together!

Verse 1

I wanna move so you can move

Come and do what only you can do

I wanna live in expectation

Of Your kingdom breaking through

Chorus

My hands are open

My heart is free

Open the heavens

Rain down on me

Fall down on me

Verse 2

I wanna come to You in boldness

By Your power I receive

I wanna live in expectation

With You I’ll do greater things

I believe in greater things

Bridge

Till all that overwhelms

Is overwhelmed by You

And every soul has seen

What You can do

A holy visitation

Where everything is changing

There’s no empty spaces

When You move
